Dear Beige,
I’m writing you this letter to let you know how I feel about you. I know a lot of people actually like you and I’m here to say that I really don’t. Other people have you in their homes because they feel safe with you and think you look good with just about any and every piece of furniture, artwork or drapery in their home. This may be true but life is just too short to be quite that boring and safe.
I want excitement for my clients, fun and want to give them color that really makes them feel good and happy about the home they live in. After all, it’s a home not a hospital, not a doctor’s office and not a prison.
I know your best friend is the Stager and you do have a place in their lives but my friends are a little more colorful than that. They are Interior Designers and Color Experts and we want more than just, well, you.
My clients are also a little more colorful and they are asking me to ask you to leave their home. It was nice working with you there for a while but I’m sorry you will have to leave. Oh, and you can bring your friend Amazing Gray because quite frankly, you two are not so“Amazing” anymore. But I must say, it’s because of you that I have a job, a colorful one at that. So our friendship has not gone unnoticed and I thank you for that.
For now, I bid you adieu but before I go, I know someone you’ll get along with just fine, their name is White.
Best Regards,
Donna Frasca
LoL – I hope you’ve enjoyed my colorful sense of humor but on the serious note, I’m actually making a factual point. I have not chosen beige for a few weeks now and my clients are asking me to PLEASE choose something else for their home.
They want color, excitement and something new and refreshing. I’m not saying neutrals don’t have a place in a home but I am saying the face of neutral is changing. I don’t make up these rules I’m just following the lead of my clients. I’ll choose black for them if they want it in their home but this of course is not the case.
Just to let you know what colors my clients are liking, I’m going to show you a few color combos that I’ve chosen for a recent client.
The two colors on the bottom are the closest hue to beige. There’s a peach on the left and the color on the right is actually more of a yellow but it’s not showing well here. My client wanted a very pink, spring-like color scheme and this is what was chosen for her.
So you see my friends, there are options here and good ones at that! Have fun with color and think outside the box and see how beautiful your home can be with the RIGHT colors.
love it, donna! bring in the COLOR 🙂
I’m just doing what my clients want and THEY want color! Thanks Kristie 🙂
