What color should I paint my kitchen?

The kitchen as we all know is the core of the home. This is where you’ll want to design well and choose the right paint color for your kitchen. Think resale down the road but meanwhile, think of a color that suits your kitchen and a color that you’ll want to start your day with. Let’s see your paint color options.

Starting off with the best color choice, I’ve been using a lot of warm grays in the kitchens here in South Charlotte. It’s warm color and neutral enough to go with all decors and more importantly, neutral enough to open into the rest of the home.

You can also see the this gray was pulled right from the grout color in the flooring and it’s also found in the granite counter top. That’s what makes this particular gray perfect for this kitchen. It really ties everything in instead of just looking like it was just painted on the wall for no apparent reason.

Penthouse – Color Stories

You see this taupey green in so many kitchens – I refer to it as one of the Model Home colors which is not really good. Good in the fact that it matches everything but not so good because it’s drab, dated and boring.

Thayer Green – Color Stories

Green is a very popular color choice for the kitchen but you have to pick a green that has the matching undertones in your home.

Estate Sale -Color Stories

Red is also a very popular color for the kitchen but just about all the red kitchens I’ve seen, look horrible. Why do you need such an explosive color in the kitchen? I can see if you have a contemporary kitchen with white cabinets that would look awesome but most of the time, the reds clash with the cabinets.

Amaretto – Color Stories

Cream kitchens, or white, are simple, classy and obviously neutral so it’ll go with everything in your home. The only problem I have with a super light paint color in the kitchen is the contrast it’ll have with the cabinets. Right now these cabinets appear to be floating in space.

Stoneware – Color Stories

So my color of choice for the kitchen would probably be in the gray family. Look at these grays and see which one will work best in your home.

These Color Stories hues  are beautiful neutrals for the kitchen to consider. Looking for something grayer? Try Skipping Stone or Penthouse
