Colors for kids bedrooms. They’re going to be bright!

I can almost put money on it – whenever I go into a clients home and get to the kids bedrooms, I can tell the age of the child just by looking at the color on the wall. Kids choose such vibrant, happy colors as they should! They’re kids.

Moms always give me a disclaimer when I go into the kids bedrooms, they say, “I’m not sure if we should change the kids room color or not. It’s so very bright!” No, we shouldn’t change it because they will just choose another bright color, which is fine.

Here are some colors that were chosen by my younger clients.

Turquoise

Can’t decide on a color for a playroom? Both green and orange are a great choice for a kids playroom. Right behind these two hues will be purple and blue.

Keep in mind that these are the rooms that kids will be in most of the time – it’s THEIR rooms. Adults choosing color for the kids room is the same as putting high heels on a 5-year-old. Color should be age appropriate and there is no one better to choose color for a kids room than a kid.

These two hues were actually chosen by the kids and when Mom saw how happy they were that THEY got to choose the color, she agreed it was a good choice.
