Put a Little Magic in Your Bedroom and Make it Exotic

What color should you paint your bedroom? Here’s a suggestion.

We all know that when you’re trying to decide what color to paint your home you can pull a color from your drapery, upholstery or artwork. You’ve read that factoid in a thousand blogs and I’m sure I’ve mentioned it a few times as well. There’s one more very important part of your home that you need to look at when you’re choosing color for your home and that’s your flooring.

Looking at this photo you can see a gorgeous exotic hardwood flooring, Brittany Oak, from BR111. Dark flooring is almost like black – meaning we can really add just about any paint color to go with it and it’ll look awesome. This is basically true. However, we don’t want to be boring when it comes to choosing our wall color either.  I think blue such as Quiet Moments, Rain and Gray Wisp have really run their course. They are gorgeous colors but are getting a little long in the tooth.

I’d like to start thinking a little more “exotic” when it comes to color. What do I mean? Just think outside the box and consider a color that you normally wouldn’t give a second change.

I’ve mentioned Magic Potion several times and I’d really like to continue to promote or feature this color. Why? Because it’s a super cool and it’s liked by both men and women which make it a great hue for the Master bedroom.

Getting back to the flooring, you can’t use Magic Potion with just any flooring. This hue works best with medium to dark brown woods such as the BR111 I have shown above. Try  it out and put  some magic in your bedroom.

  1. Love the color! It is very similar to my daughter’s bedroom. My hope is to switch out her girly, cream-colored furniture for dark wood as she gets older.
