So I woke up obnoxiously early this Saturday morning. I wish someone would tell my cat that on Saturdays, all kitties can sleep in.
So now that I’m up, thank you Jimmy, and the house is quite, I turn to the comfort of my office to do a little writing.
I wasn’t sure what to write about today. It’s not that I don’t have any ideas after all I have 72 titles in draft just waiting for copy but I wanted to write about something a little different and fun today.
I didn’t want to do the typical “What Color to…” or “7 Ways You Can…” blog post so I thought I’d dig deep into my JPG file and see what I can recycle, after all, I have over 9,000 photos that need to be seen. So let’s see what I can find!
Paint! As some of you may already know, when I’m not working as a Color Specialist my hobby is still working with color but in the form of painting. I’ll try to get a couple of hours of painting done in a day because I’m trying to get some inventory for a Gallery and Spring Show I’ll be in.
Anyway, one day when I was finished painting I looked at my palette and noticed that the palette was gorgeous! I didn’t want to clean it so I took some pictures of the colors that I was working with and this is what I came up with.
I call this one my “Coastal Splat” because it looks like the waves on a beach. I love the variations of blue to slightly green with the addition of soft white. These are actually paint colors that I’ve used in homes before. Love these!
Now this color splat I loved because there were warm colors on the left and a cool color on the right separated by white. I just thought that composition was super cool. These colors were screaming “Kids Playroom” to me and used in a semi gloss sheen.
Emerald Green anyone? This one I like, not love because I’m not a fan of green but found this to be interesting. I call it “Christmas in July” because of the obvious red and green combo with the sneaking of summer like colors on the right.
“Devil Wears Prada” was the title that came to mind for this hot fiery mess. The red paint was so hot it melted the yellow – at least that what it looks like to me. “Prada” because of the super contemporary flare that it has. Wouldn’t this look great on a white wall?
No title or explanation for this one other than I think it’s gorgeous! It’s like a mini poster on a 1″x1″ section of my paint palette.
Well, I guess I wound up talking about color after all – I can’t help it!!! Hope you enjoyed my mini master pieces. Oh? Want to know what I was painting? Here is it:
Ha! My cat does that. Also if I wake up earlier than usual one or two days, then she just sets her own little alarm and gets up at the same time for the next few days–apparently she assumes that’s our new schedule and hooray for the new schedule!
I love that after they wake ME up THEY go back to sleep! What the heck?
