This home is located in Ballantyne Country Club, Charlotte North Carolina where the homes are big and the price tags are bigger. As a Color Expert also in Charlotte, I was wondering about the color choices for these homes? How many people will actually choose a “color” for the rooms in these homes versus just something “soft and subtle”?
Soft and subtle is the norm for this style home and a beautiful choice at that. I specialize in choosing colors for this type of home – making sure the colors transition well from room to room but how fun would it be if a substantial COLOR was chosen for each room for impact? When will the trend of color come back?
There’s not doubt about it. Choosing substantial color for these McMansions is a tremendous commitment and you better be sure that you not only love the color but you choose the right Professional to make sure you’ll love these colors for years to come.
Many people at this point are saying “But if I don’t like the colors two years from now it’ll cost a fortune to repaint.” Well if you can’t afford to paint your home the way you want to than Ballantyne Country Club is not the location for you. Was that a little rough? Not really. If you just bought a multi million dollar home is painting really the issue for you? It shouldn’t be. What’s more important here is choosing a designer color scheme for YOU that suits YOUR home and YOUR decor. Make it your castle. Make it your home and more importantly, make it different from what your neighbor has. Here’s some colorful thoughts of what’d I do and keep in mind, if the wall color is dark, lighten your home up with the correct decor for contrast.
Pretty isn’t it? Yes, I think so. It’s classy, colorful, exciting and daring. If you want a designer color scheme for your home, contact me, Donna Frasca. I’m an expert in color and I can find the right combination for you and your home.
Great post, Donna! I don’t think your comment was a little rough. I agree with you completely. If one purchases a substantial home, one should be prepared to to decorate accordingly. One of my pet peeves is when someone purchases a high end home, but then furnishes the home with sparse and inexpensive (like Ikea) furnishings – same for paint and other decor items.
You have quite the knack for bringing homes to life with personalized color.

This is great! Trying to pick the right color palate can often be a challenge when it comes to redecorating your home, but sometimes the best idea is to just choose a color you love and grow from there.
