I’m always hunting for a unique color palette. I’m a little tired of the blue-gray color trend that’s out there now and am in search for something that has a little more kick.
I took this picture during my last visit at Rug and Home and they have some beautiful, colorful finds there! It’ll take me many posts to show you the unique combinations that I think you’ll like. Meanwhile, here is one that shows the popular dark blue mixed in with a teal and gold. STOP! I know you just made face at the gold but don’t do that! Look how pretty everything looks together and adding cream accents to the house will really make this color palette pop.
Donna:
Minus the darkest blue here, we enjoyed the others in this palette (plus a lighter tint of the third) in our main living areas and rooms opening onto them. Painted over only because we just wanted a change. They were very workable colors to decorate with.
The great thing about working with gold is that you really have a nice selection of accent colors to work with. I had gold in my LR too and changed it to a patina green for a change. Loved both looks.
You are right! I did cringe at the “gold” wall color. I don’t think I’ll be able to get near gold paint color for its nearness to beige for a long time. But you are also right–it looks wonderful with the other colors.
I would have loved to see your face!
