I was driving around town the other day and drove by the Firethorne community in Marvin which is just 5 miles down the road from my house in Wesley Chapel. I always loved looking at the McMansions there and admired the beautiful landscaping, the architectural features of some homes and the gable roofs are amazing.
Then I stopped for a moment and wondered why don’t I have any clients in this community? I have clients all over South Charlotte in just about every community expect Firethorne and Longview. Why is that? I then put 2 + 2 together and figured it out.
I pretended I was a homeowner in one of these very large homes and thought to myself, now that I have the home of my dreams, I now have to get new, larger scale furniture and a lot of it. I also have to paint this home to call it my own but now I also have to come up with a zillion colors for 10,000 square feet of new home! If I wasn’t me, I’d say FORGET IT!!! I’ll just pick one color and it’ll be my forever color because I don’t want to go through this hideous and expensive process!
You’re probably thinking well if you can afford a house like this you can afford the extra cost to hire a Color Expert and paint it. Well that’s not always the case.
Many times when people find a gem such as this they either get it during the right time in the market or they buy it on a shoestring and became what’s called “house poor” which basically means you invested all your savings into a beautiful home and now you can’t afford to do anything else to it. I know that for a fact because some of my friends have done this and I just see this happening over and over again.
There are of course homeowners who love their home, can afford to hire a Designer and redecorate it to their hearts content but can’t be bothered by it. They are very happy with the Contractor’s Beige on the walls because it matches everything. Uggg.
So where are the people who want to have forever colors in their home, can afford to hire a Color Expert such as myself and who is willing to devote some time and money in getting the best colors for their home?
For example. Look at this library. It has beige walls!!! Beige is also the SAME color throughout the house. Bring your home to life and choose color people!!!! It’s YOUR home make it beautiful. I chose a slate blue for this room if I were to pick a color. Is blue a forever color? You bet your bottom dollar it is but of course, it has to be the right blue. That’s where you need to hire a Color Expert to help choose the right one. You don’t want to do the process twice. Isn’t this pretty?
Here’s where it’s pretty critical to choose the right color. The foyer. It’s the first space you see as you enter into your home and it’s where your friends and family will either say “Wow” or “What? Beige?????”
Now doesn’t the light, crisp gray look a whole lot better than beige? Of course it does!! Look how nice the floor will be with a gray wall. Again, you have to be crazy careful because if you choose a gray that has too much yellow in it, that will fight with the flooring. Also keep in mind you now have a slate blue library on the first floor somewhere and all this colors will have to coordinate.
Intimidated by this process? I understand it can be scary for you but I LOVE designing color for homes such as these and I’ve been doing it for a really long time. It’s what I specialize in. Contact me and I’d love to meeting with you, I just live right down the road for your convenience.
Like your ideas. Need more examples, always more examples of 4 Ever colors
I will do that next time 🙂
