I’m in the process of painting a few of the rooms in my home. It’s been seven years since I painted last and I’m ready for a color change.
It’s funny because I now have to choose a color for myself and it’s not easy! How do you choose the perfect color for a room? When I come to your home I choose it for you but who can choose the perfect color for me?
Like I tell my clients, if you choose a color for your home and don’t like it, choose another color. It’s literally just one gallon of paint. With color that affordable, the freedom to choose a really fun color is just so enticing!
So I chose Sage Morsel and it looks great. I did look at it for a few days and wondered if I made the right choice (note: Color Experts are the worst clients!!!)
and you can see it in the guest room here
The kitchen area is similar as you can see but when I stand here, they look like the same color! That’s the trick lighting plays on our color choices.
I like the monochromatic feel and it makes my spaces look larger. It’s also a very calming color and if I should move, it’ll be neutral enough so I won’t have to repaint.
Now I have to repaint the bathroom to match the new guest room color and I have now have to change out all the decor which I planned to do anyway. I also will be getting a dark brown, hand scraped wood floor eventually so the look of this space will be so different!
It’s an ongoing project and but aren’t all homes? #MoneyPit
This most definitely made me chuckle. Reminded me of sitting on the kitchen floor for hours with every fan deck I had trying to pick the perfect paint colour for the walls – yet a great wall paint colour is so obvious when picking it for our customers!
No kidding! I can choose an entire color palette for a 4,000 sq. ft home in 30 minutes but take forever to choose one, just one color for myself!!!!
