It’s that time of year, Thanksgiving. It’s time to reflect on the year, our lives and acknowledge what we’re thankful for.

As I briefly mentioned in the previous post, I said that I “have a secret” and I’d like to share that with you in this post. It’s been an incredible year and one of extreme change. Come read about my newest journey.

Where do I begin? First of all, I’d like to thank all of you who read my blog.  Blogs these days are not always the most interesting and I try to keep mine very conversational style and on the level. No fancy jargen or terms that nobody understands, no confusing or hidden fees or services and most of all, most if not all this content comes from actual conversations that I’ve had with my clients. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Let’s break it down!

T IS FOR TIME: I am so thankful for the time I have to be able to write this blog and share my colorful thoughts with you.  I hope that some of you were able to find this information helpful or at the very least, entertaining. I try to make it a good, useful read.

I’m thankful for the time I get to spend with friends, family and even just by myself. Time in any way shape or form is important but what’s even more important is how you spend your time. It’s something that goes quickly and we don’t have an endless supply of so spend it with the people you love and doing the things you want to do.

 H IS FOR HAPPINESS: I must say that I am currently the happiest I’ve been in a really long time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m always happy but this year after a lot of reflecting and thinking about my life and career, everything is where it should be.

There are no facades, no puffing up of my chest and saying “Look at me! I’m a fancy Designer!” because there is absolutley no need for that. You can’t fake genuine knowledge or happiness, people will see through it. Not only is that not healthy to do but the people who are not genuinely happy and put up a facade, can only hold that stance for so long before they crash and burn. My H is strong and I’m here for the long run.

H IS FOR HEALTH. I can’t thank my lucky stars enough for blessing me with a strong, healthy body and mind. You need a strong core to carry through life. Have a strong mind and a strong body will follow.

H IS FOR HEALING: Healing? I thought we were talking about what we are thankful for? Well I am. This summer I was introduced to Reiki. I had no idea what this was about or how it would impact my life but I kid you not when I tell you it’s a life changer.

This is going to be really hard to put in a few words here so I will continue to talk about this subject into 2015 and how it impacts my life and color for all future posts. If I can even say “in a nutshell”, healing and color go hand-in-hand. As most of you know color is my thing so to speak. I eat it, sleep it, think it and live it. That is what makes me an Expert in the field.

Now the last few months since I’ve  been certified in first and second degree of Tenshintai Reiki Usui Reiki Ryoho, color has taken on a whole new meaning. It’s about health, the home and healing. I’ll go more into this in later posts so PLEASE bookmark this page because it’s really going to get into the nitty gritty of color and why we choose the colors we choose – or should be choosing. Stay tuned.

A IS FOR ART: Of course it is! Where would our lives be without art? Here again I am so very thankful for the God given talent of art and creativity.

I’ve been painting since I was a single digit and to this day, enjoy art as if I just picked up a crayon for the first time. I’m a proud member of the Waxhaw Arts Council and honored to be their Social Media and Design representative which is also a perfect fit for me. I recently had an art show at the Rosehill Inn and sold a few paintings which is always a joy. When I art, there is a never ending feeling of joy and that’s a feeling that is really hard to explain.

N IS FOR NEGATIVITY: and how it no longer has a place in my life. There was a time when negativity would be a daily thought or action in my life. I didn’t do it intentionally of course but as a result of outside influences such as the economy, politics or just listening to unhappy people day after day, I too sent out ugly, negative vibes. It took a little while to reprogram my thought process and change this, which brings me to the “secret” I’ve been wanting to tell you which will be in K. I’m thankful for past negativity and having experienced it which has helped me move onto positiveness. It’s all good!

K IS FOR KARMA: We all know this one right? … “the sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.”All I say about this is if you push positive thoughts and actions out, they will come right back at you and that is what we want! Believe it or not, our color choices will also influence our moods and feelings, you knew this already, and will only help enhance those positive vibes. I will be writing about that as well.

S IS FOR SECURITY. I’m very thankful that I’m secure in my skin because talking about all this “karma” and “Reiki” stuff is not easy or I should say not easily excepted. It’s deep, it’s confusing and it’s an eyebrow raise to some – but it’s all good and it’s who I am. There’s a reason my career is solely pinpointed to color and this is it! It’s to provide my expertise in helping people get the right colors for their home BUT, BUT, BUT – for the right reason. Whether you need a certain color to help you heal, grow, be happy, be free, be  your “whatever”, through my recent Tenshintai Reiki Usui Reiki Ryoho certifications, I can really pinpoint what colors you NEED in your home. I know it sounds weird and I totally understand but guess what? I’ve been doing it all along 🙂
