I don’t know about you but I can almost smell summer and that means beach. Beach means water. Water means blue and that leads me right to the coastal color scheme.
This picture was taken on Singer Island in Florida where my parents live (and rent there) so I can get my coastal recharge just about any time I’d like to. The water was warm, the sand was soft, the sun was shinning and these are the colors that I will remember when I think of this day.
When you think about coastal colors you of course think of blue. I’m trying to shift the coastal color scheme just a bit to the green side. See the green hue in this graphic? I’d love for that to be the first color that comes to mind when we think coastal colors, just for something different.
That’s the color you see just as the water is about to hit the shore and it is ready to wave. See it in the photograph? That is the color I love and the color I look for when I go to the beach.
Now wouldn’t that make a great color palette for your home? It’s just another step forward from the typical blue and gray that you see and just looks at the coastal color scheme in a different way.
