I am so happy to see that there are many Designers that are finally finding themselves and Designing with their mind, body and spirit instead of following all that commercial hogwash that is just so robotic.
I started using the Holistic approach in the beginning of last year and it’s just made my clients so much happier about their color choices.
How do you find the colors that you need for your home? Here’s a suggestion.
Sit in your living room and look around. What is in your room that makes you happy? Is it a painting? A favorite pillow? A blanket Grandma crocheted? Look at the colors in that object and bring those hues into your home.
Here, choosing color for your home the Holistic way, is all about feelings. No pressure about what your neighbors think because nobody cares. It’s what YOU and your FAMILY want in your home that counts.
See all the colors in the graphic I have up top? I don’t know about you but I love the silvery green of the Eucalyptus on the right, I love the pink in the flowers and of course the greens are my #1.
Achieving the balance of Holistic colors is not hard to do. Keep your colors to about 5 for the home and mix and match throughout.
Select a light color (for areas like the foyer and hallways) a medium color for the core such as the living room and kitchen and then pick a darker color for the dining room and accents.
If it feels right, do it 🙂
