I don’t know about you but I get inspired by Nature. If you take a photograph of a landscape and look at each of the colors individually, they work perfectly together don’t they? Well that’s Mother Nature for you and it’s also a perfect way to choose color for your home.

Here I have a painting that I made – it’s one of my favorites! I love the trees and how the light peeks through the trunks.

You can see a nice combination of light hues and dark accents which makes this painting, perfect for a color inspiration for your home. Here’s how you can break it down.

I love the earthy browns which would be my choice of accent color for the home and the cream to add with it to show contrast. That cream I’d use for the ceiling and trim in the home, white would be too stark.

Blues look great in the kitchen that has brushed nickel accents and light cabinets. How very coastal even right?

The taupe color would be my choice in the Master bedroom with the dark brown in my ensuite.
