You wouldn’t expect to see coastal colors in a small ranch home what was covered in pine paneling but my recent client wants just that.

I grew up on a Ranch on Long Island so I know my coastal colors and I know the light retractions of a Ranch style home. Not only that, most ranches have really low ceilings which is also a consideration when choosing ceiling color.

Here I have a really nice color palette and this can be in any paint company you wish. It has a nice selection of blues and light on the gray AND no beige. Those were the restrictions.

Knowing that, a coastal color palette is limited to clean, crisp grays, blues that teeter to green just a bit and whites that have a fairly clean undertone.

The only huge process for this client is priming all the paneling, which is on the ceiling too, so she’ll get a nice, fresh coastal look.
