I can’t tell you how happy I am that a super cool green is chosen for the Color of The Year by Pantone.
I’ve been posting about green for such a long time – since 2009 to be exact – and finally, the hue came to surface.
Now isn’t that pretty? So “refreshing” compared to all the blues and grays that we’ve been seeing for what seems like centuries now.
Where do I begin?
Why do I love green so much? If you’ve been reading this blog you’ll see that I’ve noted that green is all about the Heart Chakra. What better color to have in your home than one that connects you with the heart?
Where blue is found mostly in the sky and waters, green is the hue that comes to mind when we think of the forest, grass, tress, jungle, rainforest and those rolling mountains on a hot summer day. Did you get a nice visual? Good. Hold onto that.
Here are some of the other ways you can incorporate Greenery into your home:
With this color palette you still can bring in a slate blue – which is a nice combination of blue and gray, with an accent of indigo which is still popular as well.
See how amazing blues and greens work together?
Oh I can’t wait to see how everyone else pulls in Greenery to their home!
I just want to show you some graphics that I’ve been posting that also highlight this green.
But Donna, green goes so well with the blues and grays! 🙂 I’m not over the blues and grays, personally. But I’m about 5 – 10 years behind!
Well you enjoy those blues and grays!!! They are beautiful in the home as per all my coastal color palettes for the home – very, very popular 🙂
Christmas greens are nice, but what you have here is just “in your face” refreshing! have to admit though, I like the warm greens as the cooler ones make me shiver!
Donna, what is the true color of emerald?
Hmmm, this is an odd question. Can you rephrase it? Not sure what you’re asking.

My son has black, grey and light blue and white in his bedroom. What does Black relate to?
Good question Barbara! Many people think black is a scary color but it’s really quite the opposite. This would depend on where you son has the black. Is it a wall color? Ceiling color? Just in accents throughout the room?
Black is a very strong, dominant color and it also has protective properties. Think Obsidian, Onyx, Apache Tear, Hematite just to name a few crystals.
It also can be considered a neutral because it goes with all colors.
Is he using black to contrast the other colors in his room? To make a strong statement about who he is?
So you see, there is much to be considered when choosing black for a room color. This was a huge fad back in my day. The teens used to paint their ceilings black and put posters on them or stars.
