2016 was a great introduction to the Holistic approach to color. You’ve seen many of my posts connecting color to how we feel.
In 2017, I’m going to dig deeper into color and zero in how these hues make us feel and which colors to use in the home and why.
We all know that so many people love the water and all the colors that are associated with the beach right? Well let’s dig deeper.
Background: I am certified as a Reiki Master Teacher so color has more meaning to me than just pigment on the wall. It connects us to our body, our mind and our Spirit. THIS is what life is all about and I’m going to do my best to try to convey this to you. Please read more about the certifications I recently received that helps me tap into all this because now that 2017 is closely approaching, this is what my focus will be – Holistic Color AND Chakra Color and how it affects the body.
So in this graphic you see lots of blues and grays. STILL highly popular hues for the home. Let’s find out why.
Many people follow the color trends and just realize that yes, blues and grays, aka the Coastal Color Palettes are super pretty and look amazing in the home. Done.
However, there are people who go a bit further when it comes to color and they FEEL the blue and FEEL the gray. This is good and not so good.
I’ve posted before about how people with depression issues should avoid gray for obvious reasons. Keep in mind that NO I am not a Doctor but I do have extensive training in the chakra system and it’s so flipping amazing how the colors that we choose, we choose for a reason.
Blue is the color of the Throat Chakra. This chakra is all about “speaking your truth” and what is that you are trying to convey to others.
Here is an example of how to use blue in your home to activate your Throat Chakra.
I bet you already have these colors in your home? That’s good! Not only are they pretty but they are calming, restful and pretty darn gorgeous.
Now this on what the throat is all about. Talking, eating, speaking, laughing, sound, silence, voicing your opinion, communication, eating and drinking just to name a few.
With all that in mind, which room do you think that these blues should be in?
Did you guess the living room? If you did, that’s perfect.
The living room is usually where the parties are and where the family gathers right? Which better room than the living room to use your Throat Chakra?
See how using the colors of the Ckakras work?
Now if you said blue in the bedroom, that’s ok too. Blue is usually where I see this color the most.
Let’s break it down.
Reread what the Throat Chakra does. It’s basically the Chakra of communication and speaking your thoughts, your opinions and what it is that is important to you. Yes the bedroom is a place a rest but also, communication is key here which also ties into the Sacral Chakra (orange) which I’ll get into at another time.
There is SO much to learn about out Chakras and I will be talking about them – a lot!
Stay tuned and watch as I fully engage my Throat Chakra as I “talk” about color and the cool spin on our chakra system and how it fits into our home and our lives.
