Healing color can look like many colors but the real question to ask is “what does healing color FEEL like?”
Is there one particular set of colors that are “healing colors? Well yes and no.
Color as you know is a highly individualized part of the home. What feels and looks good to one person can so not be good for another. This is tough when you have many people living under one roof.
There are certain colors that just about everyone loves or at least likes then there are certain colors that it’s a hands down no. How do you find out which ones work for you?
I’d go to the local box store and just look at all the colors they have in the paint department. Zero on the ones that you are attracted to, you know the color that you pick up to find out its name? That one.
I can tell you this. The colors NOT to look at are blues, grays and white. Why do I say this? Because I’m listening to what my clients are saying.
I am hearing the same thing over and over again. “Please do NOT show me any gray!”
A lot of people still love blue but gray and even white – are getting the big boot!
What colors do I recommend?
To start with, look at pink, lavender and green – all shades until you find one you love or at least like.
Now that we are in 2017, it’s really time to start looking at a whole new way. And it’s time, it’s been time.
Interesting. When I first moved to the South 20 years or so ago I was surprised to see no gray anywhere but all relentlessly tan. (I like gray, and cool colors, always have) At least now gray is finally an option. Guess I’d better get it while I can!
You better hurry because gray is quickly fading as a color trend. Plus it’s not a very Holistic happy hue. Try lavender. Do you like purples?
