When Sea Salt Looks Minty

I got an email this morning about Sea Salt that I’d like to share with you.

from the email box

Hello Donna,

I was reading about Sea Salt on your website, I bought 2 cans of it and painted my room Sea Salt and it look mint. Is there anything I can do to the 2nd can of paint to make it look more like Sea Salt on my wall?

I get a lot of sun in my bedroom and am wondering if that’s the reason it looks minty.

Thank you kindly

ME:

I would not adjust your paint color. It would be easier to repaint a color that is less minty or change your light bulbs which has a lot to do with how your color looks. I don’t know what state you live in but that is an important factor as well.

So to summarize, I’d either choose a new, warmer color or try experimenting with different lighting in your home. Once you alter the original formula of a color, there’s a really slim chance of getting the exact look again and this would be unfortunate if you had to repaint or touch up.

Hope that helps:-)
