When you first enter a home, what is the first thing you see? Color right? Either the color will welcome you or it will make you feel uneasy. Come see how welcoming the RIGHT colors can be.
Here, you have a color that is a nice blend of green and blue. Keep in mind that the rug on the stairs is gray so the wall color will have to coordinate with that.
See the flooring? Notice it as an orange undertone? Again, this needs to be a consideration for your wall color and already eliminates many colors right off the bat.
I personally think that this blue is a better fit than the first color. Why? Well look how nice it blends with the carpet on the stairs?
Not sure if you can see it well but take a look at the tile that is in the back room. See how nice it looks with this blue? Everything is tying in.
Blue and “orange” as mentioned as the general undertone for the flooring, are complementary colors.
This home also has an open floor plan and as you can see is a nice size home. With homes such as this one, you can use a stronger color instead of super light neutral.
So which color would you choose? Either of these would work but keep in mind if you choose the first color, your decor and furniture will also have to match. The blue maybe an easier color to work with.
As you develop the color palette for the rest of your home, use a creamy white for the stairway and upstairs hall.
So there you have it. When you enter this home you’ll be greeted with a substantial blue and a creamy color that leads your eye right up the stairs. Way better than gray don’t you think?
