I have been receiving a lot of requests for colors that heal and this makes me happy to no end. The common thread here is to eliminate gray from the home and replace it with warm, healing colors. These are actual words from clients that I have been receiving in emails.
What is so exciting about green? Green is a nice combination of blue, which is still a favorite color among most people and yellow which is a very warm healing color. Now that interesting fact about blue is that although it’s still crazy popular there are many people that cannot have blue in the home because of certain depression issues that they may be feeling.
I don’t know about you but when I see green it immediately connects me to the outdoors. I am such a big fan of being in the woods or trees of any kind where green surrounds me.
The feeling of warmth energizes me as I look at all the shades of green from the new leaves in spring to the mature trees where dark green resides.
Green is also the color of the Heart Chakra which symbolizes the color of love. Now I know you’re thinking that pink or red is symbolic of love and this is true as well however if we are talking about the chakra system Green represents the heart.
Since green is symbolic of a love it makes the perfect color to be the dominant hue in the home.
In my opinion Valspar paint’s still has the best selection when it comes to greens. I usually gravitate towards their National Trust Historic Preservation colors which have a very earthy feel.
So if you have some emotional issues such as depression it’s time to put the gray away. Reconsider the blues that you were using and start bringing in green and those warmer hues into the home.
Look at greens and choose the one that touches your heart – you’ll be able to feel the right one ❤
That was so interesting, thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
I have always loved blue and hate grey! I have a huge green granite island in my kitchen and decided to find a blue and green fabric so I could have my favorite color in the kitchen.I’ve never went with fads and now I have to get busy and get those curtains sewed!.
Oh this is great Donna! I love your passion.
