Is there such thing as a fool proof color palette? Yes! If the colors exist in Nature, they will certainly be the ones to consider for your home.

I’ve been studying color and color trends for a long time. I’ve been looking at what the paint companies design to what other Designers are promoting and coming up with themselves.

Many designers take a photo and have an app that will choose the colors for them but I prefer to hand pick the colors myself .

Besides using apps to automatically choose the colors for you, ever wonder where everyone gets their ideas from?

Well I’m going to refine my color palettes to that which is found in Nature. I’m going to call them simply, Natural Color Palettes.

My thinking on this is as follows. If the colors exist in Nature, they are already chosen for you, just pick the top 4-5 that you are drawn to.

If you look at the graphic I have above you’ll see my photograph along with five colors taken right from the photo. I thought of the rooms in a home that I’d need color for then looked at the photo and just picked. It’s that simple!

Here I have some greens (my favorite color) that would be great for full wall color or just accents for a living room or dining room. The blues of course are perfect for the bedrooms and no color palette would be complete without having a neutral which will always be in the center of these graphics.

This color palette is earthy, lively, different and has a strong energy if you’re drawn to the mountains like I am.

So keep in mind, if it’s good for Mother Nature, it’ll be a great color palette for the home!
