Gray is one color that SO many of us have to be super careful of when we bring it into the home? Why? Because of the way it makes us feel.
Here I have three grays. The first one is a warm gray, the middle one has a very green undertone and the last gray is a cool gray. Each one of these grays “feels” different depending on you and you alone.
• Some people will just like the first warm gray because it feels inviting.
• Some people will love the middle gray because it feels homey and comforting.
• Some people will be drawn to the gray on the right because it feels crips and clean.
• Some people will not like any of these grays because they all feel lifeless and depressing.
Now – which gray do you like and why?
Whenever people say they like “cool, icy colors” I am seriously mystified.
Cool, icy colors are colors that have blue undertones, kinda like ice and snow. That was not a typo – snow has a blue undertone. It’s SO white it looks blue. As a matter of fact I needed a light blue ceiling for a client one day and I chose an Ultra Pure White which did the trick. Why are you mystified Katie because you don’t like the icy hues or that someone would choose that for the inside of their home?
I liked the first one— I am guessing because I like a warm and inviting home, but it was really an instinctual choice.
What I love about color choices is that we are drawn to these colors for a reason – and your gut, the inner voice, chimes in to help you with those decisions. I love that you like your home “warm and inviting” – as it should be ❤
