Sherwin Williams has some colors that are just top-notch and yes, Sea Salt is one of them and has been for a really long time now. Having said that, Sea Salt now has a new competitor and it’s Waterscape. What’s different? Come take a look.
Don’t get me wrong, Sea Salt is a very pretty color but it’s getting a wee bit long in the tooth. Let’s shift Sea Salt a bit and change it to something lighter, brighter and cleaner. What would that color be? Waterscape also by Sherwin Williams.
Now is the perfect time to dig deep into the “Watery” colors. If you are in the winter season and know a little about the Elements, you’ll know that now is the time to tap into what water can do for us.
A virtual client of mine is not liking the gray she has in her home. She sent me a photo of her home which did look pretty but the gray was so lifeless. I sent her a few colors to look at and one of them was Waterscapes by Sherwin-Williams.
CLIENT: “I do LOVE the color but it clashes with my curtains”.
ME: Well, change your curtains 🙂
Color has more impact when you have an amazing look and feel on your walls such as Waterscape then an easy to replace curtain panel. (this does not apply to custom drapery.)
She’s going with Waterscapes!
Now back to Sea Salt. Here you can see how beautiful Sea Salt is, however, look at it compared to Waterscape. Sea Salt has more gray in it and we, well I am, are trying to get gray OUT of our color palettes.
If we are ever going to try to self heal and make our home the best they can be, gray has to get out of the home. I know a lot of you are getting mad and disagreeing but this is my stance and I’m sticking to it.
It’s little changes such as taking the gray out of your wall color that will subliminally change how you feel – and it’s free – no professional therapy needed!
Both are beautiful but one outshines the other just a bit. First glance, which one feels better to you?
I have gray furniture and gray carpet will waterscapeGo with furniture and carpet
Yes I think so – it should certainly bring some life into the room with all that gray. Test it out first 🙂
Thank u what outher colors can I use
I would have to see pics of your home to make sure the undertones are correct. Email me if you’d like a virtual consultation at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com
Does waterscape have green undertone of blue ? Please suggest some blue greens that have green undertones.
Waterscape definitely has a green undertone but it also will change depending on the lighting in your home, it can show bluer or greener.
Thank you for this post! I purchased a sample of Waterscape after I saw this and love it!! I started my journey with sea salt and after several swatches of SW colors chose Waterscape. It’s going in a sunny west facing room and shows as a lovely greenish aqua/turquoise color. I am in love with this color!
I love Waterscape because it has more color than Sea Salt. It’s very uplifting! Enjoy your new love 🙂
