The best thing about my “Perfect Colors For” series is that I do all the work for you. Like one of my color palettes? Just ask and it can be yours!
Here I have The Perfect Colors For Babies. If you notice, they are perhaps the typical colors you’d see or used to see in nurseries. The reason I said “used to” is because now, there are SO many nurseries that are gray. GRAY! I don’t know about you but gray DOES NOT BELONG IN A NURSERY! Let’s explore these colors a bit more.
Color should not be a guess at this point. With all the “Baby Reveals” now everyone knows the sex of the baby way before the birth. This is a great time to really take your time and design the perfect color palette for your nursery.
In the color palette I have above, you see a pink a blue and some neutral colors. The neutral colors are the pale yellow’s and the light green just in case you are keeping the sex of your baby a surprise until birth and you’re not quite sure what color to use.
When your baby is a newborn, this is the one and only time that you had the chance to use the typical baby colors. Please people, save gray for the guestroom or for when you’re 80 years old.
I know a lot of you will be upset about my comment about using gray for when you’re older but it is what it is. Gray is a lifeless color and when the baby’s eyes are developing, gray does not help with that color development at all. On a positive note of gray, it’s more so to help neutralize and calm the energy of the parents because gray is a very meh, neutral color that has zero energy. Yes having a newborn is very stressful and color does help ease our emotions so in this case, gray in the nursery would be for the parents not to the baby. Some people think gray is chic choice for the nursery but here again, chicness does not belong in the nursery.
Every single item in the nursery should be to help stimulate and discover color and objects for the baby who is growing in every way. Make nursery colors fun, useful and uplifting for the new life in your family.
