Yellow is such a great color for the home, it’s warm, inviting and it feels great! However, there are very few yellows out there that are nearly close to perfect. 

The other day a client was looking for the perfect yellow for her living room. She loved yellow but she knew there were too many choices and she didn’t want to make the wrong one. She emailed me for advice. 

Like all colors, it’s all about the undertones. Some yellows are too gold, too green, to peachy too blue to gray, and either too light or too dark. I have found a yellow that I just love and it’s Paper Lantern by Sherwin Williams.

It’s soft yet not too light. It’s a tad gold but not reminiscent of the ’70s. It’s bright but not glaring and soft enough to say it’s buttery. I’d say it’s a perfect shade of yellow.
