While we are still in the first month of the year, I want to start, “Color and Crystals.” This will show you a deeper look at the colors you choose for your home, and, perhaps why you choose them.

As we all know, red is a power color. It has a lot of energy, movement, and passion. What else do we know about red? Let’s dig a little deeper and chat about this hot hue.

Garnet is the gemstone for January. Its blood-red color is a great indication of what this stone can be used for.

Many crystals are healing stones, and as I described garnet as “blood red,” it can help aid our blood. For those of you who are anemic or have a blood disorder wearing a garnet with the intention of healing is very powerful.

Red is also the color of our Root Chakra. It is our base and center, located in the hip area. This Chakra represents grounding stability and relates to our family and the relationships in our lives. Think of all the body parts that are located in our hip area. If you are experiencing any hip disorders, lower back pain, or any issue in this area, there may be a chance your Chakra is unbalanced. Here is where color comes in.

The mind is very powerful. When I have lower back pain, I know my Root Chakra could use some help. Out comes my garnets, well I should say garnet, I only have one ring that was my mom’s. She was born on January 3th which makes this her birthstone. When I wear this ring, I think of her (family and relationships), but I also intentionally send garnets healing energy to my lower back, focusing on that connection. What else can you do?
You can wear red. A red shirt, shorts, pants, apron belt – anything red in the hip area would be ideal. When I wear my ring, at rest as I walk, my hands are by my side, right by my hip and lower back area.

You can also add red to your home. Of course, you can paint your walls, but that’s a commitment to color. I’d start small and get knick-knacks, decor, pillows, area rugs, stuffed animals, curtains, towels, things like that.

The main thing to remember when it comes to color and crystals is to set your intention. As we move away from big Pharma, many of us are looking towards holistics and self-healing. This is going to be our 2022, so get ready! Good things are to come!
