Color and Crystals for February

Ah, the color that represents the Crown Chakra! Purple, it’s the go-to color for all that is spiritual. How else does purple fit onto our color of the month? So many ways!

Welcome February and welcome beautiful Amethysts!

The Greeks believed that wearing an amethyst would protect against magic, homesickness, evil thoughts, and drunkenness. I don’t know about you but I’ll wear amethyst for those reasons alone. Also, amethyst was believed to protect the wearer against the invasion of the mind by evil forces, transform bad thoughts into optimism, and provide a release of false friends. That is quite the history of this beautiful purple stone.

On a more modern-day use of amethyst and its color, most of us use it for its calming effect. From the calming lavender teas we drink, the color on our walls, and the zen feeling in our spas, this is the beautiful lavender hue we are more family with.

I know when one day I had a lot of noisy thoughts, that looked like static or when we used to be in between two TV channels, remember that? My mind couldn’t rest so I intuitively took my natural chunk of amethyst and placed it on top of my head. Instantly,  my mind calmed and the static, noisy feeling in my head was gone. Is amethyst that powerful? You better believe it!

So from the connection to our Crown Chakra right down to the wall color we choose for our home, lavender is the #1 hue to have in the home to chill. Keep this in mind if you have ADHD, anxiety or depression. Yes, my friends, color heals.
