Why for 2022? Because these feel different. The coastal colors of years past have the same look and feel. These hues are a variation of those calming colors but with a twist of newness. Come check them out.
I like this coastal color palette because of its overall dominating blue tone. There’s no gray, no stark white and no other colors other than a variation of blue. Why is this important?
Other coastal color palettes, like the one I designed below, have a combination of other colors to complete the look. Is it pretty? Heck yeah! BUT, and there’s always a big but, this color palette is very different from the one I designed for 2022 shown above.
The color palette at the top of this post for 2022, as I said, has a different feeling. What kind of feeling? I’ll break it down for you.
The coastal colors for 2022 start off with a blue very close to the teal side. It teeters on a fine line of green and blue without fully committing to either color. This is good because it will blend in if you do have greens in your home but more importantly, this “teal” closely resembles the hues of fluorite. From the soothing green-blue colors you can see to the healing properties of calming and clearing you can’t see but can feel.
I love the cream color for trim and ceiling. It’s perfect for color-sensitive people who find white too harsh. This neutral is soft like a cloud, which brings me to the true meaning behind all these colors.
I mentioned a cloud and yes, that is why I designed this coastal color palette for 2022. These blues represent the blue shades of the sky. From light baby blue to the slate blue-grays, these are all colors we see WHEN WE LOOK UP. And that right there, is what this palette is all about – looking up.
At this point, we all need to look up to the heavens for inspiration, insights, and clarity. No more cemetery grays in the home. Looking up and ready to move onward and upward with our lives wherever it takes us.
Sky blues is the way to go for 2022. I’ll tell you this, I’m not a fan of blue, green is my favorite color but oddly, I chose Tradewind Blue for my guest room and it looks amazing! It is a whole new ball game when it comes to the vibe of that room and why? Because it’s color chosen with intention to uplift.
So my friends, this coastal color palette is hands down, highly recommended for 2022. As we gracefully walk over our hurdles, and yes we may fall, be sure to look up and see these blues that will get you back on your feet again.
