What Color Should I Paint My Brick Fireplace?

You love your fireplace but not really loving the brick? Is painting an option? Well of course it is! This is what I’d do to totally transform the look of this room.

paint the fireplace

First, I’d start with a delicious wall color, like this robins egg blue. This color will balance all the orange on the floor and those wood tones throughout the room. I took this color right from the ottoman, which I love. It’s a fun color and instantly lifts the room.

Now the fireplace. Not a fan of red brick on the inside of this home. There is already too much orangey red in this room, so the brick is out. I love the color of the dark blue sofa on the right, so I suggest taking that color and echoing it on the fireplace. Add some pops of light and bright mantle decor, and you have now created a fantastic focal point for the room.

If this were my room, I’d update the curtains to a lovely floral with navy in it and perhaps an area rug with all these colors to combine the look.
Bye-bye red brick!
