What Color Should I Paint My Foyer?

“Wow, what a beautiful foyer! ”This is what we want our friends and family to say as they enter our home. How do we do that? With the right color.

the perfect foyer colors

In the graphic above, I have a typical, open floor plan foyer. When homes have this type of layout, you can see up to three or four rooms at any given time. When choosing a color for the foyer, it must match and coordinate with the surrounding rooms. This can be tricky.

Here I have three colors that are relatively common for foyers. I have a light neutral, not a white, but a soft color that is almost like a hug as you enter your home. It is perfect for the color-sensitive person and is light and bright, so it welcomes you the first thing you come into the house.

The most prominent color I have here is greenish-gray. I am not a fan of gray for the home, but I know some people do like this color. If you have to use a gray in your home, I suggest using the warmer grays such as the one I have here. It will look exceptionally striking with a crisp white trim.

The third option, which I think is beautiful, is a light sky blue. Blue is such a fantastic color to have in your home, especially to be the first color you see. Blue is still the number one color to have in the home, and to have it mimic the color of the sky it’s just fantastic.
