From a person who can see color, boredom definitely has a look, color, and pattern. Can we counteract it with other colors?
I don’t know about you, but looking at this card makes me sleepy. This is what boredom FEELS like and looks like to me. It’s gray, drab, and has no direction. It’s a never-ending circle that just spins and spins and spins without any meaning, direction, or focused energy. It just exists. Is this how you want to feel? NO! Let’s fix it.
Here is a painting I created called “Jubilee.” She is a young, vibrant, happy child with arms reached up in the air. She is in her zone, her element of happiness.
This is where you need to be too. What did you use to do as a child that made you happy, that you looked forward to doing? Was it going to the movies? Coloring? Playing with your toys? Friends?
Here we have pink, peach, yellow and purple. What youthful colors! Looking at these colors should activate a fond memory of your childhood; when it does – HOLD IT.
Homework: When I work with healing colors or do readings for someone, I always give homework. It doesn’t make sense to say, “Oh you need to tap into your inner child again” without suggesting to the client how to do that.
Here is my suggestion.
Keep that memory in your mind that made you feel happy and youthful. What was it? Remember how you felt when you relived that moment?
Today’s homework is to do something childish. Cut out paper dolls, watch cartoons, hula-hoop, or play with your kids’ or grandkids’ toys for a day. Rekindle that joy you had being a kid.
You’ll find a new focus, newfound energy, and a refreshed mind when you do. Sweep away those cobwebs in your head; you don’t need them anymore. Now have some fun!
