If you said blue, you’ll need to read this. Everyone and their sister now have some form of blue on their porch ceiling. Typical look. Do you know why they chose blue? They don’t know; they are just following the trends. Come see another option and why it’s a good one.
I’ll be the first to say that color choices are a very personal thing. Why does one choose blue for a ceiling color anyway? Perhaps they Google it, and they see that there are tons of posts about it. Go ahead and look and be sure to click on Google images to see all the blue ceilings. Don’t you want something different? Come look at this option.
The color I have here teeters between a pale grayish pink and lavender. This color is the color that we see in the sunrise. Why did I choose this color? Because of what it represents.
I wake up every day like it’s a new day, a new beginning. Whatever happened yesterday is now in the past, and today is a chance to start over. This is an excellent remembrance for me when I have things on my mind that lay heavy on my shoulders.
It’s a new day! A new beginning! Our thoughts should be as we sit outside on our porch and look up – like welcoming the start of a new day, this color represents our new too!
You can find this color in just about any paint deck. If you need help finding your new day color, fill out the form below.
Hello Donna,
Legend has it, that blue porch ceilings, ward off insects and spiders. I have found in my own experience, that this is likely. Once I changed my porch ceilings from shades of blue, to off white, it seems that I have more webs and moths to deal with. I ran across your website, while researching new exterior colors, to paint. I will be adding blue in to my porch ceilings!
I look forward to reading more of your posts.
Julie
A white ceiling will attract many insects, especially ladybugs; for some reason, they flock to white in the fall. Besides, personally, I’d rather have an awesome color on my porch and not worry so much about insects. Blue is pretty but like I said in the post, it’s very common. Do you like the lavender/pink color I show in the graphic? It’s very calming too!
