Cranberries. Yes! That is how you start. Pick a “theme” you like and just roll with it. This is a room that I’m designing for my new log cabin in the mountains, and the theme of the room is cranberries. Let’s talk about how color rolls into that.
Interestingly, I started with the bathroom towels. There were many colors I had to rule out before I got to that luscious red.
Orange: I couldn’t use any shade of orange because there is so much wood in the house that has a similar hue; I needed contrast and color.
Blue could have been a possibility, but I’m not a huge fan of blue.
Green, my favorite color, is definitely a good choice, but I have that colorway already started in another room. Stay tuned for details on the Mushroom Room.
Gray – no way.
Yellow – nope – too close to the wood color.
What’s left? Red and red it is. Not just any red but a deep, rich, cranberry red. Isn’t it gorgeous?
More to come on my cabin updates! Stay tuned.
