I just bought a cabin! Yes, it’s been a lifelong dream of mine and finally, my dream has come true. Now, the fun part is choosing colors for a cabin.
The good thing about my cabin is that it’s mostly all wood on the inside. There are no walls to paint; even the ceiling is wood.
Many log cabins do have sheetrock on the walls, and that, of course, is where color comes in. If my cabin had walls to paint, this is the color palette that I would choose.
These colors are from the Eddie Bower color collection of Valspar, and sadly, it doesn’t exist anymore. Other companies will color-match this collection but NEVER recommend color matching. You do that at your own risk, and good luck if you need more of the same color a few years down the line; it won’t match.
Here is one of the bedrooms in my log cabin, and you can see all the walls have wood, tongue and groove, no place to paint. The bedding is white with a darker and a lighter blue and I think the pillow is actually black instead of navy. Looks kind of nice. I’m not really a fan of blue, but the house came fully furnished and this was one of the beautiful bedcoverings that I decided to keep because I actually like the way it looks.
If I had to buy bedding, I would incorporate one of the colors in the color palette I had designed. I actually did this in one of the other bedrooms that I called the cranberry room where the accents are, that beautiful red color in the color palette. I filled the room with cranberry wreaths, red candles, and beautiful pillows that had patterns of red in it.
Since green is my favorite color, if my cabin had walls, it would definitely be a shade of green. Again since the cabin has tongue and groove wood, I bring in accent colors of green as well, and it looks really great.
This color palette is available for purchase for $65. Again since Eddie Bauer colors don’t exist in Valspar I can transpose these colors into Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, or Valspar. Fill out the form below inquiring about this particular blog post and I’ll get back to you with the details.
