Pingback: But I Love Sea Salt SW 6204! | Decorating by Donna • Charlotte's Color Specialist
Hi Donna, there is a color palette in one of your articles that I would very much like to purchase. The article was dated 11/19/2013 and was entitled, “What Happens When Home Stagers Choose the Wrong Color.” Thank You, David Couch
That has been a popular one David and I’d love to help you. Here’s the link:
http://wp.me/pK9I2-13k
Please send me an email at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com and we can discuss the details.
Thank you!
Hi! Love the article! Sea salt really is beautiful. I have a sample of it painted on my wall right now and it’s so peaceful and joyful. Originally I wanted this color for my bedroom and bathroom. I’m very tempted to paint my whole house this color! Would that be a mistake with warm cherry cabinets and warm countertops? Or should I go with a greige for the whole house, like Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter? Thanks!!!
Hi Suzanne,
I’m never a fan of painting the entire home one color. I like to choose a few colors mixed with a neutral to define spaces.
Be careful with Revere Pewter, it can be a tad dark and depending on your light, can come across a little green.
Let me know if you need help with your colors, I have a Virtual Color Consultation that would be perfect for you.
What color compliments Sea Salt? Plum?
Plum? So-so. It depends on the undertone.
Hi,
i like your blog but not have enough time to follow all articles!
May I suggest a concept place where colors are changing referring light applied concept?
I really appreciate to wait your comment on this.
Kindest regards
Paola Biasibetti
Paola,
There are many hours of reading on the blog for sure! I really don’t get into lighting here on this blog although it has a tremendous effect on color. I do have a post or two on it just search the word “lighting” and it should come up.
Thank you!
I painted my living room and kitchen Sea Salt. We love it. However, we are having difficulty deciding what color to paint our hallway and dining room. The hallway flows into the living room and up the stairs. We thought of doing that area Comfort Gray. Do we need more contrast with Sea Salt or other? Our dining room has beautiful off -white colored wainscotting on the bottom and we need help with choosing a color for the top. Since the dining room is off the hallway we are concerned about the colors coordinating. Please help??
Thanks,
Gem
Yes you need more contrast. Sea Salt and Comfort Gray are too close. I like to use an light neutral for hallways and the stair area. Look at some of the soft whites or light cream colors and don’t worry if it’ll be too close to your trim color. It’s more important that your hallways are light and bright 🙂
Hi Donna, I found a pin called “How to choose colors for your home” using warm yellow, green, and two shades of gray. Can you tell me the names of these colors? Thanks
I sure can but I’ll need to see the graphic you are refereeing to. Please send me an email – that information is in the CONTACT information on top.

Hi Donna. I’m not sure where to begin with choosing color on my open floor plan. I know I do not like blues, despise grays and have stained concrete floors that I’ve never even seen before moving here – lol. Do you have suggestions to get me started?
Yes. You landed on my CONTACT page so please send me an email with details and I’d be more than happy to help you 🙂

Maria, Yes. You landed on my CONTACT page so please send me an email with details and I’d be more than happy to help you 🙂
What do I have to do to learn the coastal palette with Ben more gold tone?
Carolyn, I’m not sure I understand your question. Can you please reword it or send me an email at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com
Hello,I have repose gray as you walk in door in 1/2 bath & utility room. Then you walk into kitchen with alabaster cabinets & trim.I need a sherwin williams color for kitchen walls.Help me please.Kitchen goes into living room with mindful gray then back to repose for bedrooms & silver strand in bathroom. Thanks
Ok so far you have two gray neutrals that you can work with.
Can you tie in one one the colors that in your granite if you have granite?
That’s a lot of gray in the home and I don’t know where you live or what decor you have to tie it all in. How about a natural like Natural Tan?
I’d really need to see your rooms and know where you live to give you proper advice. I hope that helps. Those three colors look pretty together.
Good morning Donna,
Can you please send me the link to find out what colors the living room, foyer and bedroom are on your costal color pallet?
Thanks so much!
Sorry! There’s a charge for that. Send me an email if you’d like to proceed 🙂
Please help me to find Colors that match sea salt.
Thank you
I can give you a list of colors if you’d like but I’ll need to know what your decor looks like so I can suggest the best colors for you Sandra. Send me an email at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com. There is a charge for this service.
I need virtual help choosing exterior colors for my small mostly brick ranch style home. How much money should I expect to spend on this service?
Hi Rebecca. Ranches are smaller homes and are fairly simple to design color for. The price depends on what you need. If it’s a brick Ranch then you don’t need a siding color. Are you looking for just soffit and faschia and an accent color? Do you need everything from siding, trim and an accent color? Email me for more details but this is usually in the $150-$175 range depending on what you need. I also provide a graphic that includes your home, 3-4 color choices and placement so you know exactly where the colors go. I should do a blog post on this so you can see but meanwhile, send me an email at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com
Thinking about using Sea Salt along with Expressive Plum in my home office with Cherry and White furniture on two of the walls to accent and brighten up the room a bit. Let me know if this would work… originally was going to use Lazy Gray, but fell in love with Sea Salt. Thanks! ~KF
I think Sea Salt with Expressive Plum is way more interesting then using a gray. Sample it out and see.
Hi
I need to select color for exterior home asap. Can you work with me today?
Sure can!
Good morning Donna! This is wonderful. I need help picking a color for my ” calm room “. It is small. Right now it’s fire engine red,my oldest’s old bedroom. I want to create a place of calm to go to. I keep going back and forth trying to decide a color.
Fire Engine red? Wow that’s a lot of energy moving around in that room lol. Send me an email at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com. I’ll need to see pictures of his room. I look forward to helping you find your calm 🙂
Would like to purchase color pallet for whole house seen on your January 3 post.
Saw your post on Pinterest.
Oh that’s the Valspar color palette – super pretty! Send me an email at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com and I’ll process that information for you.
What are the names of the Valspar colors on the Pinterest pin that led me to your site?
Cathy – if you click on that color palette it will take you right to information on how to get the names for that color palette. There is a $100 design fee for that. Please look on my blog for more information. There is an email in this blog to contact me to proceed. Thank you.
Can u come to concord, Nc?
Sherrine, it would be more affordable (and get faster results) for you if we do a Virtual Consultation. I have a $200 promo going on now and with the time and drive to Concord, the cost would be double that. Email me at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com for details.
HI Donna! Someone gave us a gallon of Silvermist paint (SW) and we’re going to use it on a west-facing low-lit bedroom. Which color SW white would work best with this color and exposure? Thanks very much!
Lucky you! The only white I use is Westhighland White SW7566 – it’s a soft, warm white. Happy painting Gail!
Hi Donna can you tell me the name of the yellow color or maybe a close facsimile of same by either Behr or Benjamen Moore.
Which yellow are you referring to Coline?
What wall Colors go with red couches?
Thanks
Susan, that would depend on which red you have. Do you have Burgundy? Tomato Red? It’s really difficult to suggest a color without seeing the rest of your home, it really needs to tie in.
If you want to go Contemporary try Penthouse from Color Stories or Shortbread would be nice, or if you can’t decide neutrals always work – try Dulce De Leche also from Color Stories.
Miss Donna, would it be possible to resend the color information that Joyce and I purchased back in July 2020? Was it Farmhouse something? We are restoring an early 1900s bungalow. We are (finally) ready to paint another room but we seem to have lost track of it.
Thanks!
Hi Vic, My goodness! From 2020? I’m sorry but I only keep files for a year then I have to delete them. I have many clients which adds up to many graphics and can only keep a year’s worth at a time. I’m so sorry! I can give you a discounted rate if you’d like me to rechoose a color for that room. Send me an email at DecoratingbyDonna@mac.com if you’d like me to help again.
