Getting Your Rocks Off With Color

As my client (from Matthews, NC) and I stood in her dining room thinking about what color to choose for the walls, I looked around the room and there it was – rocks.

Although the walls of a home may be bare, all you have to do is look at the artwork and decor that are in a home to see what colors the client likes. You’ll see a pattern in art, pillows, blankets, novelties, flowers, dishes, towels – anything at all – will have a similar color palette. These are the hints that I pick on on when I choose color for a home so I just gather up all the visual information and compile it into a workable color palette as seen in the bowl of rocks.

Making sure the undertones are correct, a color palette is born!
